playing at Burguesa on Friday from 10:30 to 11:30
Western Skies started as a solo project for singer/songwriter Michael McMahon which gradually grew into a collective group effort to write and play songs that combine old Folk and Americana influences with a modern sound in order to create a familiar style of music of which a diverse audience can enjoy. What sets Western Skies apart from most bands is that our style is ever changing during our set. We play country songs reminiscent of Johnny Cash or Townes Van Zandt, surf rock songs that evoke the spirit of The Cramps, and 50′s rock and roll bringing back the sounds and inspiration of Sam Cooke. All of these styles we weave effortlessly with one another and the product is a truly unique concert experience.
